Mini-Sessions: Best way to save on Family Portraits, and more

I’m super thrilled to be offering Mini-Sessions again to people around the country! Every year I do this in different locations… some you have probably heard this term before but wondered what it meant. I am going to explain it here… it is a wonderful way to have family portraits, engagement photos, or headshots taken without paying a premium price.

Last year I was in Detroit, Mackinac Island (you could have guessed that one), Denver, Chicago, Southern California, Northern California, and Lansing. While there I offered at least 1 Mini-Session day and it was a total hit!

For 2020, I’m in the process of setting my schedule… I know I’ll be hitting a few of the same locations… here is a list to start

  • -Tampa Bay, Florida (April + November)
  • -Southern California (February/March)
  • -Detroit, MI (May + October-2 sessions)
  • -Lansing, MI (May + October-2 sessions)
  • -Mackinac Island (July)
  • -Chicago, IL (October/November)
  • -Northern California (December)
  • -Europe (Italy, France, England… TBD)

I’ll be adding more throughout the year… If you are interested in having a mini-session day brought to your city contact me HERE and I’ll work on putting it on the calednar if there is enough interest.

A “mini-session” is a smaller portrait session during a set time and place chosen by a photographer… aka ME! The photographer schedules several portrait sessions in a row and each client can schedule when works for them. Since the location and time are arranged ahead of time… it is a super efficient way for a photographer to offer more portrait sessions to more people at a discounted rate.

Have been wanting to get professional photos taken but afraid to commit to the time and money of a full portrait session… a mini portrait session is a perfect way to do it!

A mini-session is also great for people who only want a few images in a single location. This can be a great option for people who want a small number of images done quickly and in one location. There are many different occasions where a mini-session can be useful.

  1. Engagement Photos … Save the Date
  2. Family Portraits… Holiday Cards
  3. Corporate and Branding Purposes… Headshots and Company Photos
  4. Grad Photos… Graduation Announcements

Keep in mind that a mini-session may not be for everyone. If you are looking for a variety of locations, many images, or if your group has people who may need a little extra time (read as little kiddos) you may want to book a full a portrait session. You can find out more about those by contacting me HERE and I’ll get back to you shortly!!
