I met up with Julianna and Ryan in May for an engagement session at the Station House in downtown St. Petersburg.
These two actually won an engagement shoot giveaway, and I was GLAD! From the moment I met them at the Don Cesar Wedding Show, they were easy to get along with, and throughout the session, we simply had a blast with each other. We even took a moment to go downstairs to Ichicoro to grab a drink when they were too nervous (and it was too hot) to continue—and then went right back to it!
We also have mutual friends, Kellie and Mike. Look out for their wedding soon!
The Station House Engagement Session
Of course, I can’t blog about this session without gushing about the Station House as a venue. I’m absolutely obsessed with it! It’s a co-work space by day and wedding venue by night, which means there is never a shortage of incredible backdrops to use.
For this session in particular, for example, I loved photographing Julianna and Ryan in the 4th floor kitchen. There are some fun signs with sayings like “bloody hell” and “hold your horses,” and I especially wanted to get them in front of the “bloody hell” sign because Ryan is from London.
And that’s just one part of the fourth floor! There are three different floors to utilize in the Station House, so I can always find something that suits the style of any given couple. There’s gold, iron, brick, wallpaper, even bookshelves, all available for backdrops. And then if you go outside, you get that true downtown St. Pete feeling with the white brick wall. In just an hour, you can get so many options it looks like we pulled off a whole tour!
Ryan & Julianna, thank you for an amazing engagement session! And thanks to the Station House for providing some amazing backdrops, as always.
